Semester 2 must be the most disruptive period for study, simply because of the holidays falling within Jan-March. I feel like I've been on a one-week CNY break this week and before one realises, the end of next week will come and we will all adjourn for the mid-semester break.

Perhaps I'm the only one getting this notion, especially since I've never really come out of the December holiday mood even though term has commenced for nearly one and a half months.
You should hear the tone of disaster befalling me in that line. It simply translates into "Joanna has not been keeping up with work for a month". With the amount of work they usually pile on us, taking a one-month break during semester is not without dire consequences.

As a result, I now have a backlog of countless cases and mountains of readings to consume. I think this is going to be why my life will remain very quiet for a while yet. No time to think of anything but the burden of work. But no harm done, I shall prevail, as I usually do.

Okay back to work now, before more annoying relatives invade my house later in the day.
