Another dark and dreary monday with yet another assignment to do. Sighs, life is dark.
Well, let me take a minute to muse I guess...
One day I was having one of those serious conversations with my little sister. (It's amazing because for her age, she actually thinks a lot more than she needs to.) She told me that she read somewhere that our lives is an empty cup of water which needs to be half-full at all times, the fullness of the cup signifying the level of fulfillment in our lives.
I think that statement is darn right cause while we can't be at the bottom of the pits rotting away, having a full cup of water would signify the end of living. It's like playing a game with all cheat codes activated, there's just no more challenge in life if everything comes too easily.
Balance is then the keyword to living a fulfilled life I suppose. (Haven't quite been through the whole process of life yet so I don't know whether it's really the right way to go..) Just like with a balanced diet, we need proportionate amounts of happiness and comfort vs. trials and tribulations. The sad thing is we don't quite know what the proportion is like or whether there is a standard proportion for everyone at all.
But then knowing the exact mathematical proportion would be having our cup filled up to the brim wouldn't it?
Sometimes, uncertainty is just beautiful, in its own underappreciated way.
